Two New Officers Join CPD

Officers Nathan McGough (left) and Brian Meza were sworn in by Coalinga Police Chief Darren Blevins on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Coalinga City Council’s meeting. This brings the total number of sworn officers to 15.

Meza formerly worked for the city in another capacity and has quickly traveled up the ladder to full-time employment with the Coalinga Police Department. His last position with CPD was as the animal control officer, but when that department was transferred to “Give Me Love” animal shelter, he got onto the police officer track.

McGough comes to Coalinga with experience in another valley community. Both men had numerous family members and friends to witness their swearing in at the council meeting.

Officer Sean Young was also “Re-Sworn” at the meeting.
