A Person of Interest Was Identified In The Shooting of a Three Year Old Girl
On Monday, September 23, 2019, at approximately 10:35 PM, the Coalinga Police Department investigated a shooting that left a 3 year old girl injured.
Coalinga police officers worked non-stop trying to get the subject identified. On Wednesday September 25, 2019, officers obtained the identification of a person of interest in the shooting and he was identified as 19-year-old Coalinga Resident Joseph “Jose” Andrade Ramos. Ramos also had three No Bail warrants for his arrest for threatening a law enforcement officer, criminal threats and two counts of battery.
Officers obtained information that Ramos was staying at a motel in the City of Avenal. Officers responded to Avenal where they were assisted by the Avenal Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Bail Enforcement Agents.
Ramos was contacted at the hotel and was taken into custody without incident on his outstanding warrants.
Ramos was transported the Coalinga Police Department for questioning regarding his involvement in the shooting. Ramos was booked in the Coalinga jail on his warrants and could be facing additional charges.
