Son Stabs Mother in Head

Monday night a man in his 30’s with mental issues stabbed his mother in the head for an unknown reason.  When Coalinga Police Department responded to the 300 block of Walnut on a report of the stabbing. officers found the 51-year-old victim had barricaded herself in her bedroom after her son had stabbed her on top of the head with a kitchen knife and was keeping her from leaving the residence.

Police officers rescued the victim by having her exit through the bedroom window.  After exiting the home, Coalinga Fire Department gave preliminary treatment to the victim’s wounds. She was later transported to Fresno Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
