CPD Arrests The Third Suspect in Residential Burglary

“Third Residential Burglary Suspects Arrested”

On Thursday, January 23, 2020, Coalinga Police Officers responded to the 1300 block of Hannah Street in the Amandako Mobile Home Park on a report of an in-progress burglary.

Officer determined that a minor was home alone when a male and female suspect forced entry into the family’s mobile home while a second female waited outside and acted as a lookout. It appears that the suspects were unaware that someone was home and fled the scene after finding the minor in a bedroom.

During the investigation, Officers conducted several interviews and obtained  surveillance video from a neighboring home which captured the incident. The interviews and surveillance video aided police in identifying the suspects in this case as being 25-year-old Edgar Cervantes, 27-year-old Leticia Romero and 21 year old Sara Medina. All three live in Coalinga.

Medina and Romero were arrested earlier in the week and transported to the Fresno County Jail.On January 28, 2020, at 7:36 am, Coalinga Police Officers obtained information on the whereabouts of the third suspect, Edgar Cervantes. The information obtained led officers to the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street. Upon entry into the home, Cervantes was located in a bedroom asleep. Officers immediately took him into custody without incident. Cervantes was transported to the Coalinga Police Department where he was booked on burglary charges and was later transported to the Fresno County Jail.
