Lemoore’s Holly Blair Arrested on Multiple Charges

Holly Blair (married to CHS graduate Paul Blair) who is a Lemoore Councilmember was arrested just after 2:30 p.m. today. For unknown reasons, Blair drove through the parking area use by Lemoore Police Department at high speeds and later evaded officers as they drove after her in pursuit, according to a press release from the city.

LPD staff and Lemoore residents were in the police department’s parking lot in preparation for a procession which was scheduled to take place in Hanford, just east of Lemoore.

One of the chaplains for LPD was in the last stages of preparing for a cross country journey for the department. The mission of the trip was, ironically, to meet with other law enforcement agencies to discuss mental

health awareness in law enforcement.

The chaplaincy has a strong and important mission: To provide a ministry of presence, support, and counsel to the law enforcement personnel of the Lemoore Police Department, as well as the unfortunate victims of crime.

The trip has long been in the making, and today (June 5) was the culmination of that preparation.

At 2:14 p.m., Blair drove a 2008 maroon Honda Pilot into the rear parking lot at a high rate of speed. When officers shouted for her to stop, she failed to do so. She drove to the farther end of the parking lot, made a tight turn there and returned at a high rate of speed.

Officers repeatedly shouted warnings to Blair with no response. Then officers focused on warning other officers who were in the direct line of Blair’s apparent course.  At this point, a chase ensued with Blair leading the way, east on Cinnamon where she failed to observe stop signs “with no regard to public safety. A juvenile was seen in the back seat of the vehicle.” (according to the report).

Blair came to a stop as she approached N. Lemoore Ave. Officers demand that she exit the vehicle and made other demands, but Blair made to apparent moves to comply with their directives.

When Blair was finally in custody, she was charge with several crimes: assault with a deadly weapon, evading a peace officer, reckless driving, child endangerment, and resisting arrest. At last report, Blair is being held on $120,000 bail. It has been reported that the children in her vehicle have been placed into CPS charge, but is NOT confirmed.

“This is an active investigation with many more witnesses to be interviewed,” said a LPD spokesperson. More information will be released when it becomes available.

There is no known motive at this point to suggest a reason for Blair’s behavior.
