BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED

On July 25, 2021, at about 6:00 AM, Coalinga Police officers were dispatched to the Coalinga Discount Market regarding a burglary that had occurred. Officers were able to obtain video surveillance footage which showed the suspect breaking one of the front windows to the business and then entering the building through that broken window. Through the surveillance video, the suspect was able to have been identified as 25-year-old Coalinga resident, Arturo Medina.

While checking the area for any other evidence or crime scenes, officers located more broken windows at Ron’s Barbershop and at Fatte’s Pizza. Both businesses were found to have been victims of burglary. Officers collected evidence that helped identify the suspect and showed that all three burglaries were connected.

While investigating the burglaries, officers responded to Fastrip regarding a subject trespassing
on the property. Officers contacted and arrested Medina for both trespassing and the burglaries.
Medina was still in possession of some of the stolen property. Medina was booked into the
Coalinga City Jail and later transported to the Fresno County Jail for charges of Burglary and
Trespassing.
