Coalinga Hospital Reopening Thursday

Dr. Amerdeep Brar, CEO of Coalinga Medical Center (formerly known as Coalinga Regional medical Center), announced this morning that the facility will officially reopen on Thursday, December 3, 2020 and 10 AM. The California Department of Public Health contacted Brar Wednesday morning with the much anticipated approval for the facility to reopen.

After its closure in 2018, CMC board members worked tirelessly with Wayne Allen, the CEO who was brought in to help the facility after the former CEO, Sharon Spurgeon, retired. Coalinga’s only hospital was in dire financial straits, and was forced into bankruptcy by the situation. Allen, whose specialty is in restructuring failing hospitals assisted in finding an group willing to take on the challenge of reopening the hospital.

American Advanced Management Group has successfully reopened several other hospitals throughout California. The group is based in Modesto, and the Coalinga project was headed by Manpreet Singh.

There have been countless hurdles in the process of reopening with rumors running rampant about various problems and issues.
