Welcome the City of Coalinga’s New Fire Chief
The City of Coalinga is excited to welcome our new Fire Chief, Gregory (Greg) W. DuPuis!
Chief DuPuis comes to the City of Coalinga from the City of Sanger, which has a very similarly structured Fire Department.

He then promoted into the position of Administrative Captain working directly under the Fire Chief. As the Administrative Captain, he was tasked with managing the day to day operations of the Fire Prevention Bureau as the Community Risk Reduction Officer, supervising Fire Inspectors and Fire Code Compliance Officers, reviewing and approving plans for new and existing buildings, assisting with developing and revising local codes and ordinances, performing inspections and investigations, managing the part-time non-safety pilot program, and serving as the Fire Chief in the Fire Chief’s absence.
Chief DuPuis has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration, an Associate’s Degree in Fire Technology, and a long list of certifications including, but not limited to, Chief Fire Officer, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Fire Inspector I, Background Investigator, Fire Prevention Officer, Fire Investigator I, Fire Officer, Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator I, Firefighter II, Firefighter I, HAZMAT First Responder, and ICS 100, 200, 300, 700 and 800.
