Shots Fired on Fourth Street
On Wednesday May 13, 2020, at approximately 5:33 pm, Officers responded to the area of Fourth and Elm Ave., on the report of shots fired. The first officer arrived on scene within 30 seconds of dispatch receiving the call and observed two male subjects running through the north alley way behind Bement’s Auto body.
Upon contacting the subjects, they told the officer they had been shot at by someone in a red or burgundy vehicle. The initial officer immediately advised the additional responding units who began searching the surrounding area for the vehicle.
The victims were uncooperative with the officers; however, they did state they were walking down Fourth Street near the alley way behind Family Discount Market when shots rang out. The two victims then ran across Elm Ave through the parking lot of Los Reyes and then into the alley way where they were contacted by the officer.
Officers canvased the area and were directed to the alley behind Family Discount Market, where they recovered several spent shell casings. They also located several bullet holes in Bement’s Auto Body Shop’s building. Officers were able to obtain video footage of the vehicle at the time of
shooting and officers are currently working on identifying the occupants of the vehicle.
