On Thursday, January 9, 2020, Coalinga police officers began a burglary investigation which occurred days prior at a storage warehouse in the 200 block of West Forest Street. Prior to alerting police of the burglary, the victim received information that some of his stolen property was at a home located in the 200 block of East Houston Street.
Police Officer began the investigation and located property belonging to the victim at the home. Officers were able to identify a primary suspect in the case as Coalinga resident Zachary Love, who is on active probation in Fresno County for property crimes. Love is well known to local and regional law enforcement for his involvement in property crimes.
As the investigation continued, police began searching for Love in known areas. As the case furthered, Love made criminal threats to harm the victim, which is a felony under California law. Love was located at his home in the 100 block of East Ivy Street where he was taken into custody. During a search of the premises, additional stolen property belonging to the victim was located and returned.
Love was booked into the Fresno County main jail on felony charges of burglary, threatening to dissuade a victim, possession of stolen property and for violating the terms of his probation.
