Property crimes detective with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have booked Juan Pinones-Salazar of Coalinga in the Fresno County Jail. He faces felony charges of robbery, attempted robbery, using a deadly weapon to commit a felony and resisting arrest. His bail is set at $122,500.
At 10:30 pm on Thursday, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a robbery at the Motel 6 located at 25008 W. Dorris Ave. in Coalinga. Once deputies arrived, they saw a man, later identified as Juan Pinones-Salazar, running from the scene. Deputies caught up to Pinones-Salazar behind an Arco gas station and as they were working to take him into custody, he began to fight with them. Deputies eventually placed him under arrest. EMS personnel responded to treat Pinones-Salazar for cuts and scrapes. He was then transported to jail. Deputies recovered a knife used in the robbery, along with
the money that was just stolen.
Pinones-Salazar was the primary suspect in two robberies that recently happened at the 76 gas station located at 25203 W. Dorris Ave. in Coalinga. They occurred on July 15th and July 17th.
Pinones-Salazar is also believed to be responsible for an attempted robbery of a customer on July 23rd in the parking lot of the Best Western located at 25020 W. Dorris Ave. in Coalinga.
