HIT AND RUN LEAVES VICTIM SERIOUSLY INJURED

On Friday, June 17th, at about 9:45 PM, Coalinga police officers were dispatched to a report of an injured person at the intersection of 4th and Forest.  Upon arriving, officers found a 36-year-old Coalinga resident sitting on the curb at the intersection, suffering from a serious head wound.  During the investigation it was found the victim was walking across 4th when a vehicle turned from Forest onto 4th.  The vehicle hit the victim, stopped then fled the area, traveling westbound on Forest Street and turning southbound onto 5th Street, leaving the victim laying in the middle of the roadway.  A passing motorist came across the subject and called the police.  The victim was treated and transported for medical attention by Coalinga EMS.  The victim suffered multiple skull fractures as a result of the collision.

The Coalinga Police Department is actively investigating this crime and are seeking the suspect and the suspect vehicle, possibly a newer full-size gray 4-door Dodge truck, with chrome wheels.
