A few minutes before midnight on Friday, Huron Police received multiple calls of shots being fired in the area of an apartment complex located at 36200 Giffen Drive in Huron. Officers, EMS and firefighters responded and found a shooting victim on the ground who had died. He is 19 year old Joel Aguiniga of Coalinga, who is known to stay in this area of Huron.
Huron PD requested the Fresno County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit take over the investigation. Detectives are in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and are canvassing the area for evidence. A suspect has not been identified at this time, nor has a motive for the shooting.
